Invite-only grants - is there any way in?

Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed that more and more funders are shifting to invite-only application processes. Has anyone found effective ways to get onto their radar?
Also, if you've applied to a funder in the past but were unsuccessful, would that still count as a previous relationship when trying to engage with them?
Grateful for any insights, tips, or experiences others are happy to share!
