Does anyone know standard practice (is there such a thing?) when applying to a donor who is happy to be a first funder and can give up to 50% max. It's up to 3 years and we've a positive relationship which is nice so I may ask them directly (soon) but trying to get my head around options first.
- Budget for activities ABC then ask for 50% of the cost and go look for another funder for the second 50%
- Budget for activities ABC-DEF then ask for 100% of ABC and look for someone else for DEF. In this scenario would the first funder expect some overlap or a clean end of theirs/start of the next? Would it be expected that we only report on the ABC activities (i.e. until their funding runs out) even though this would only be 50% of the total project.
- Other options . . .
