How do you deal with an employee who used to be your best mate but now seems to hate you?
I’m the Chair of the Trustees in a small rural community hall and I’m also her line manager; she’s been employed for 18 months and I don’t know what has happened but she has slowly turned into the kind of person who says things like 'this is MY community centre and I can do what I like!'
From refusing to meet in any capacity, making false claims against me, to now making it very clear than she will put in a grievance against me. If it was anyone else, we would have dealt with it months ago, but we used to be such good friends and it’s broken my heart to go down a disciplinary route with her.
Do I just get on with it or just resign? The continuous stress is slowly beginning to weigh me down, to such an extent where my husband is desperate to move house.
Has anyone had the same thing happen to them?
