I'll kick things off.
I've volunteered for a variety of causes since my teens. During university, I volunteered at a soup kitchen project for homeless people in Manchester. I remember describing my evenings spent volunteering at this project as a 'natural high'! The picture above is after we did a warm clothing collection across the uni. I then volunteered as an ESOL teacher for refugees- I loved this role as I met so many amazing people who became real friends. I also got loads of great experience for my CV. I've now been volunteering at The Mlambe Project for nearly 3 years, in a remote Marketing & Comms role. This role has helped a small charity do some amazing work for vulnerable communities in Malawi, that they simply couldn't do if it weren't for volunteers.
I love volunteering because it gives me the chance to actually do something about causes I'm passionate about. Volunteering has also (I hope) made me a better person!
