CharityConnect: What the charity sector needs right now
I felt compelled to write this after seeing so much negativity surrounding the charity sector recently.
As we all know the charities we work for do some very important work.
What would the country, even the world be like today if it wasn't for the amazing charities we work for?
  •  A world where over *1billion pounds a year wouldn't be invested in research. That includes the development of life saving vaccines! Or improved early diagnosis of life threatening illnesses and diseases.
  • A world where that stray dog would remain a stray. Last year the RSPCA rescued 129,602 animals
  • Last year Barnados worked with more than 272,000 children, young people, parents and carers, making a positive impact on the lives of some of the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people.
  • In 2017 Conservative MP Bob Blackman's Homelessness Reduction Bill, supported by Crisis' No One Turned Away campaign, became law in England.
What we need to do right now is to unite as a strong voice and stand up for the sector.
I hope to collate some positive stories, to highlight the true impact charities are having now, in turn I hope to release these as press releases and blogs, if you feel equally as passionate about this, please join me and comment below the difference your charity is making right now.
It is very easy for people to point the finger at all charities for the actions of a minute few but I will not take people painting us all with the same brush.
You can go one better and support me in contacting your local MP, asking them to share with their constituents the difference their charities are making in their local communities.
