How to protect against possible legal attacks?

IT

Ibis Lilley Head of Operations at AIF Posted 11 months ago

Hello all, I work for a small charity that investigate companies which exposes us to legal attacks. I intend to get legal advice but as a starting point I'm looking for any advice on what I need to take into consideration in putting together a risk mitigation plan e.g.
  • What mechanisms or even specific types of contractual clauses can be used by the charity to accept the liability risks of legal attacks and minimise the personal risk that employees / contractors are exposed to? Same for the legal representatives, trustees etc?
  • Are there specific kinds of insurance policies to protect against this type of legal risk?
  • What general best practices / recommendations do you have to minimise / protect against the legal attacks?
Thank you!
