I am a Trustee and Co-founder of Cameron Grant Memorial Trust which is named in memory of my son Cameron who took his own life in 2014 when he was 21. I run the charity with Carol, my wife and Cameron's mother. We work in suicide prevention and mental health awareness.
When Cameron died, nobody knew he was ill but he left a letter describing that he had suffered from depression for over 7 years. We don't want anyone to suffer in silence like Cameron did. We want everyone to know 'there is always someone you can talk to'. Our biggest project is Cameron's Coasters, simple drinks mats with help resources which we tailor to each community that uses them. We have distributed nearly 1 million Coasters to universities, schools, colleges, clubs, pubs and workplaces around the UK. We fund raise so that the Coasters are free to any community that can use them. For more info see https://www.camgrant.org.uk/coasters/
