Corporate Partnership Officer
at The Joshua Tree Supporting Families Affected by Childhood Cancers
Northwich, UK
The Joshua Tree is an independent charity currently based in Northwich, providing on-going educational, emotional and practical support to over 170 families affected by childhood cancers from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. We work closely with families throughout the North West and North Wales and last year delivered 1500 family support sessions which included, 1-2-1 Counselling and Bereavement Counselling, Tutoring, Play and Art Therapy and Fitness and Nutritional advice. As the demand on the charity grows so does the need to increase the family support provision and we are now in the process of building a purpose-built support centre In Sandiway, Cheshire which will provide an appropriate and much needed environment for our families, accommodating children of all ages from toddlers through to teenagers and young adults. Our aim is for the centre to become a centre of excellence. We also work closely with Alder Hey and Manchester Childrens hospitals and The Christie in Manchester to raise awareness and provide regular support opportunities for families going through treatment.
