I'm Janie, a chartered accountant with 14 years post qualification experience in Finance, HR and Social Investment, now leading a small faith-based charity. I moved into the charitable sector about 5 and a half years ago, where I was the Director of Finance and Operations of Access  the Foundation for Social Investment for 4 years.  I led on the investment of Accesss 60m endowment, pioneering their total impact approach, seeking to maximise the social impact of the portfolio, as well as ensuring the financial goals of the portfolio were met. During this time, I was the Acting CEO for 6 months which prompted a move more permanently into charity leadership, when I took up the role of Executive Director at ECCR (The Ecumenical Council for Corporate Responsibility) in April 2019.

Before moving into the charitable sector, I worked for nearly 8 years in UK Retail Banking, primarily in Finance and HR Reward roles. Prior to this, I spent time in both Cape Town and New York working in audit for a variety of clients. I'm also a founding trustee of Orchards, a recently established charity with the vision to see women free from sexual exploitation.
