I am a FCA (Chartered Accountant) and whilst I was working for Community Accountancy Service (Independent Examiners to many small charities in Greater Manchester) I decided to do a Masters in Charities at South Bank University run by Prof Paul Palmer (now at the CASS Business School). I have "got the bug" and in the last 15 years or so I specialise in Accounts and General legal stuff for charities. I've been a trustee and school governor and want to give something back to the community by helping small charities in my areas of speciality that are ; governance, risk assessment, strategic planning and of course finance!
I have just become a trustee at an Academy Trust in Rochdale and also at a community - based charity in Rusholme, Manchester. I am looking to get involved in other charities, if possible and even help other potential trustees make a success of being a trustee.
